About Me
I'm a versatile Product & Service Designer with experience in service design, interaction design, and design research working with clients from startups to Fortune 500. My background in public relations and the non-profit sector gives me a high degree of communication, empathy, collaboration, and resourcefulness. Always looking for opportunities where I will explore more complex design challenges and collaborate with great thinkers.
My first step into the world of design was as a director of a nonprofit. There I was tasked with designing a data tracking app that would help us fundraise more effectively. I look back and see how this experience was a real turning point for me. I realized my desire to find a career that allowed me to continue to serve people as I had done for years, but also provide for me a creative space to flex my problem-solving muscles. I learned that I loved designing solutions that put my critical thinking to the test and let me strategize effective systems and processes. It was because of this that I decided to become a designer.
I have lived in 7 of the 11 largest US cities (according to Wikipedia) and am always up for new experiences that challenge my perspective and cause me to get outside my comfort zone. I teach yoga (namaste) and have found that creating a space for my students is often like designing a well-thought-out user experience. As a strategy fanatic, one of my favorite TV shows is Survivor (yes, it is still on tv). You could say I'm a Survivor super-fan and I plan to make my audition tape one of these days.
